Theater

The theater program at P.S. 506 gives our students the opportunity to work together as an ensemble, think outside the box, be creative and gain an appreciation for the arts. Our youngest students spend their time in theater becoming storytellers, creating puppets, and expressing themselves through creative movement. The students in the upper grades apply their skills learned in previous years to write their own scripts, act, mime, and design. All grades participate in our school wide assemblies and shows as both performers and audience members. These performances allow students to gain confidence in themselves, provide an opportunity to learn audience etiquette, and create a strong and joyful sense of community in our school.
